The Randolph Street Market “Garden Party” Season Opener

In Chicago, Memorial Day weekend not only marks the unofficial start of Summer, but also the season opener of one of the longest running markets in the city!

Although the Randolph Street Market is now open almost every month of the year, May through September are the only months you can expect both outdoor and indoor shopping. The season opener is usually the most popular as locals (and visitors) attempt to get first dibs on the outstanding selection of items being sold by the 200+ vendors.

Wondering about what to expect? Well, you are guaranteed to find vintage and new clothing, shoes and accessories; eclectic artwork and sculptures; antique and refurbished furniture; as well as a plethora of knick knacks from years past.

This year the “Garden Party” theme will consist of two outdoor oasis creations by Chicago designers, including Stacey Cohen of HGTV’s Design Star, herb and vegetable growing demos, and garden planters to be auctioned off in support of Chicago House – an organization that provides housing and supportive services for HIV-affected families and individuals.

It doesn’t stop there.

The Worthpoint “worthologists” will be on site providing complimentary appraisals. will curate the  event and report on the best items at the market. For my fellow fashionistas, stylist and re-designer Redgi Woods will host a fashion presentation at 1:00pm on Saturday, showcasing his ReFINDefined collection.

Clearly, this is a shopping event you don’t want to miss! For more info and to purchase tickets, visit
