Hi, I have a family of 4…3 girls 17, 16,12,and a 2year old little boy we would love to come to the city for a 3 day easter weekend where to stay and what to do? Need ideas!!!!!!!!!!! Laura

    • The girls would probably love shopping along the Magnificent Mile and the incredible Macy’s on State Street. You may also want to look into some plays at Broadway in Chicago or the Lookingglass Theatre. The Chicago Children’s Museum on Navy Pier might have some fun things for your younger ones. The Museum of Science and Industry just opened their Mythbusters exhibit based off of the popular television show. Lincoln Park Zoo is open year-round and is free! The Rainforest Cafe is a fun place for kids to eat and have fun.

The Essex hotel has a nice pool. The Hilton Garden Inn offers a great location, and the Best Western River North is one of the better values in River North and offers free parking for guests.

We have some deals on our website that might offer you something good. http://www.choosechicago.com/deals/

If you tell us more of what you are interested in, we can try and send some more recommendations.

      Hello Laura:

Chicago City offers lot of fun things to do during your trip. I would also recommend to take one of the boat tours or at least water taxi in Chicago River. I prefer route from Willis Tower to Navy Pier location and from there to Museum Campus. Water Taxi will cost less compare to architecture cruise.

As you are coming to the City during Easter, you might want to consider planning a Easter Brunch for your family. You can find the list of restaurants in Chicago for Easter brunch at http://www.chicagovacationstoday.com/easter-brunch-in-chicago-best-restaurants-in-chicago-for-brunch/

Also, if you have time then consider the Blue Man Group show. These days they are performing at the Briar Street Theater. Teenagers love the show as new show is based on new-technology.

Laura, Your two year old might love to join in with Mr Singer at the Lincoln Park Farm House on Weds. and Fridays. At 9:00 am. Mr Singer and sometimes Kerry Appleberry sing and entertain the we ones with lively music and stories.
